    Message from the Principal

    Mr Morne Marx

The exams are done, AGM concluded and now we are looking forward to the last part of 2021.

Thank you to all the parents that made themselves available for the AGM.  We presented our reports and our audited financial statements, and the school fee increase was accepted unanimously by all attending.

Unfortunately, we were greeted with a little bit of negative news regarding the new variant that hit our shores.  We are asking parents to please ensure that their kids are wearing masks, following social distancing and following all the relevant protocols to ensure we stay safe for the last part of the term.  As you will read later in the newsletter, our school has unfortunately been affected by the new wave.

On a positive note, we are looking forward to a very full and exciting year in 2022.  Our extra murals and functions calendar is filling up quickly, and we are extremely excited to welcome Grade R to our school.  Please be on the lookout for our very exciting calendar that will be published early 2022.

“Live today. Not yesterday. Not tomorrow. Inhabit your moments. Don’t rent them out to tomorrow.”– Jerry Spinelli

    Procedure for inclement weather

Parents are requested to follow the Procedure for Lightning and Inclement weather as stated in the weekly newsletters. This procedure is important for the safety of all, especially if there are heavy rains and lightning in the area. Without the email being received, learners will not be sent to the gate. Please ensure that transport companies and lift clubs are aware of the procedure as well.

Please ensure that learners carry an umbrella or raincoat daily to school in the event of inclement weather. These procedures have been placed in the newsletters weekly as a reminder. Please can we have parent co-operation in this regard to ensure safety for all.

Car Seats for Kids needs your support!

Bryanston Primary have been involved over the years with the Imperial I-Pledge Campaign.

Bryanston Primary School, IMPERIAL Road Safety, together with Wheel Well, would like to call on all moms and dads in the Gauteng region, and our Bryanston Primary families, to donate car seats they no longer use in the aim of giving a child the gift of safety this year. This outreach forms part of Bryanston Primary’s continued outreach in the form of the Car Seats for Kids Campaign.

The Car Seats for Kids campaign, launched in 2012, has embarked on various collection drives across the country in a bid to collect pre-owned car seats from South Africans. The campaign has been a phenomenal success, having distributed thousands of car seats since its inception.

All car seats collected from the generous public are re-upholstered, safety checked and cleaned by Wheel Well, a non-profit organisation, before distribution, to ensure they are user friendly and defect free.

So go on, make a difference to a family in need!

We would like to ask our BPS families to drop off your old car seats that you are no longer using at Bryanston Primary School, to assist us in contributing towards child safety on the roads. If you would like to donate an unwanted, used or new car seat, please e-mail Mrs Roman at troman@bryanstonprimary.co.za

And for those parents, in need of a car seat – please contact Peggie Mars from Wheel Well on 073 393 7356 or pop her an email on peggie@wheelwell.org.za
