Message from the Principal
~ Mr Morne Marx
Yet another week has passed and as usual, a lot happened at Bryanston Primary. In between the normal academic tasks, Conquesta was written, we had an evacuation drill, and behind the scenes we were hard at work planning the return of extra murals. In addition, renovations to our Grade R building are in full swing.
Please ensure that you are aware of your child’s extra mural commitments. As we are still following the SOP prescribed by the DBE, please ensure that your child is collected as soon as they have finished their extra mural.
Every now and again we receive communication from High schools highlighting the performance of our past learners. I would like to encourage our parents to notify us if they are aware of any brilliant performances from any of our past pupils. We would like to acknowledge our past learners in our newsletter.
On the back of this I would love to share a part of the Headmasters address from Mr George Harris, the Headmaster at Hilton College.
“An education is far more than acquiring knowledge about a particular subject; it is indeed the ideal of forming men and women who will advance the notion of a desired society.
This is not an easy task, nor is it formulaic. Every generation is faced with challenge and difficulty; how we choose to respond defines us.
I want to make this concrete. Sometimes you will disagree with a decision your Housemaster makes here at school. How you respond to this decision is a reflection of your values and is a small building block in your development as you learn to live your values when faced with disappointment or hardship.
When a referee or umpire makes a certain decision in a game, and you feel it is wrong, how you respond at that moment is a reflection of your character and by extension is your chosen response to authority. This then becomes a training ground for much more important things later in in life.”
A sincere gratitude to all our parents that are keeping up to date with school fees. I would like to encourage parents to honour their financial commitments as the running costs of the school is still ongoing. Please communicate with us if you are experiencing financial difficulties regarding school fees.
It is with lots of excitement that I can announce that Bryanston Primary School will start their own Grade R in January 2022. Applications for Grade R is open. Please contact Mrs van Eeden at email@example.com for any further information.
“Learn to argue maturely and learn to listen attentively.”- Mr George Harris

There are still many parents who are entering the NO RIGHT TURN area on Mount Street. Please adhere to all road signals to assist with the flow of traffic. Please obey all instructions given by our security guards.
JMPD have informed BPS that they will be doing spot visits to the school to monitor and assist with regulating traffic.
JMPD have also suggested that parents drive up Mount Street (if coming from Grosvenor), and turn into Cross Road (towards the gym) and then join onto Main Road to flow into William Nicol, if you need to get back onto William Nicol Drive.
There is a NO RIGHT TURN sign on Mount Street, on the island (coming from Grosvenor) that indicates that no cars coming from Grosvenor are allowed to turn right into the parking area. Please adhere to all road signs in order to assist with traffic congestion.
