Message from the Principal
A warm welcome to Term 3 to all our learners, parents, and staff!
As a staff we would like to send our sincere condolences to all our families that have lost loved ones during the holiday. May you find peace in the times ahead.
The new term started with ice cold weather, but I am happy to report that we had a positive start to the term. Term 2 reports will be handed out to learners today. Our teachers are well rested, and we are looking forward to another busy term. This term we are steadily working towards the November exams, and we encourage parents to ensure that their kids are at school on time to prevent any interruptions to teaching.
Several parents asked questions regarding extra murals. We are awaiting direction from the GDE before we communicate when we will start with any extra murals.
I would like to encourage our parents to continue reiterating the importance of social distancing. We have noticed that the learners are battling to adhere to this after the holiday.
A sincere gratitude to all our parents that are keeping up to date with school fees. I would like to encourage parents to honour their financial commitments as the running costs of the school is still ongoing. Please communicate with us if you are experiencing financial difficulties regarding school fees.
It is with much excitement that I can announce that Bryanston Primary School will start their own Grade R in January 2022. Applications for Grade R will open on Wednesday 3 August. Please contact Mrs van Eeden at firstname.lastname@example.org for any further information.
I wish all our parents, learners and teachers a safe and happy term.
“The only thing that overcomes hard luck, is hard work.”
~ Mr Morne Marx
Welcome back to our learners! We are ready for a new term and wish the learners well for the term.
- We are happy with the progress of most of the learners. The results show the magnitude of effort placed in preparing for the formal assessments. It is important that learners prepare for these important assessments. If you are concerned with your child’s progress, please email the grade head to set up a meeting.
- The Learner assessment plan will be on the website from next week. Please help your children prepare for these assessments. If your child is absent for an assessment, please email the teacher with a reason for being absent and provide a doctor’s note.
- If your child is absent, work is on the portal so that your child can catch up the work that was done in class.
- On the 10th and 12th August, learners will be writing Conquesta. Practice papers will be on the portal.
- Grade 1-3: Mathematics – 10 August
- Grade 1-3: English – 11 August
- Grade 4-7: Mathematics – 10 August
- Grade 4 and 6: English – 12 August
We look forward to a fruitful term three.

There are still many parents who are entering the NO RIGHT TURN area on Mount Street. Please adhere to all road signals to assist with the flow of traffic. Please obey all instructions given by our security guards.
JMPD have informed BPS that they will be doing spot visits to the school to monitor and assist with regulating traffic.
JMPD have also suggested that parents drive up Mount Street (if coming from Grosvenor), and turn into Cross Road (towards the gym) and then join onto Main Road to flow into William Nicol, if you need to get back onto William Nicol Drive.
There is a NO RIGHT TURN sign on Mount Street, on the island (coming from Grosvenor) that indicates that no cars coming from Grosvenor are allowed to turn right into the parking area. Please adhere to all road signs in order to assist with traffic congestion.
We ask that parents follow this procedure for lightning and heavy rain. Please use the contact numbers for WHATSAPP ONLY if parents or transport companies are at the gate and they need learners to be sent to their respective dismissal points only when there is lightning or heavy rain.
