We promote pride in ourselves, our families, community and our school. Respect for each other is key to this approach.
Bryanston Primary prides itself on its community focus. The following activities take place annually:
- Prefect’s visit to the Lodge Retirement Home
- Cup for Cancer
- Easter Egg collection for the less fortunate
- Community Pantry collection for needy members of the school community, via the Tuckshop
The Bryanston Primary Scholar Patrol is made up of a group of volunteer learners. Each member has to undergo strict training by the Metro Police Traffic Department before qualifying as Scholar Patrol members. This is a long and proud tradition going back to the very early days at Bryanston Primary, as can be seen by the photo on the right, taken in 1958.
They have to report to school each morning at 06:50, and are amongst the last to leave everyday at 14:00. Scholar Patrol members have to be on duty during all weather conditions – sun, cold and rain – but they always manage to do this with enthusiasm! Their friendly smiles greet learners, educators and parents each morning and they are always willing to help visitors to the school find their way around BPS.
We are very proud of the Scholar Patrol and thank them for their efforts in keeping us all safe.
